Most threats are hoaxes, but every threat must be treated as real until properly assessed by authorities.
Stay calm. Keep the caller talking as long as possible.
Remain polite and non-confrontational.
Do not interrupt the caller.
Signal a colleague to notify security or call emergency services.
Write down the exact wording of the threat.

What does it look like?
When will it explode?
What kind of bomb is it?
Why was it placed?
What is your name?
Caller’s voice (calm, angry, accent, background noise)

Immediately report the threat to:

Do not delete the message.
Do not forward it unless instructed.
Notify IT and security immediately.
Preserve evidence (take screenshots if needed).
Avoid clicking suspicious links or attachments.
Be alert for:
Unattended bags or packages in unusual locations
Excessive postage or no return address
Strange odors or leaking substances
Excessive tape, wires, or visible components
Items that seem heavy for their size
Do not touch, move, or open it.
Clear the immediate area.
Notify security or call emergency services.
Prevent others from approaching.
